The Cave of the Incense

From this cave was removed 900 pounds of the spices that had been meant for the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The Real Qumran

The place that is visited by tourist which is called Qumran is where they found remains of dwelling and evidence of a small community of some sort.
But the stone structure in this picture which is about two kilometers north of that, is where they found the dead sea scrolls. And the story of this pile of rock did not end with the scrolls. through interpretation of the scroll was found among these rocks the remains of the anointing oil and the incense which were used in the holy temple.
And as was believed by the late archaeologist Vendyl Jones, may be the place that the arch of the covenant is buried.

That is me by the way in the picture.

Sunset from Mitspey yerecho

I snapped this shot a few days ago.
Cloudy skies make create the best sunsets. And out here you don`t get much cloudy skies in Jun.

Sartaba Israel Through the Barbedwire

This is view of the Sartaba Mountain peek through the barbed wire surrounding the Gitit water tower.

Sartaba is one of the locations where the jews would light a great bonfire at the appearance of the new moon. This was when the holy temple stood in Jerusalem.

Amazing Sunset

This was really the most amazing sunset I have ever seen in my life.
The second picture has me in it right under the blazing sky.

Dawn of a New Day

The very best part about being up all night is the sunrise. I used to be crazy about getting sunrise pictures. Maybe I`ll get up extra early tomorrow to get some good shots of the sun braking out over the horizon.
